The best way of saying the College football season is back once more happened this past weekend when the NCAA AP Poll of 2010 was released to the general public. With that said, what in fact is the significance when it comes to wagering and the AP Poll?
The AP Poll has selected Alabama at the number #1 spot, as with all other major football polls, as they received the most first place votes in 54 of achievable 60! Since the Tide had a 14-0 season winning the SEC championship then taking the BCS Championship, that should surprise few. As always the AP Poll is somewhat dubious, but that’s college Football.
In 2nd place, the AP Poll has got Ohio State, last season’s Rose Bowl Champs, and then #3 its Boise State, #4 Florida and #5 Texas for the top five. With 6 teams in the leading 25, in the conference it’s apparent the SEC is the dominating factor with Alabama #1, Florida #4, Arkansas #17, LSU #21, Auburn #22 and Georgia #23. With Virginia Tech #10, Miami (FL) #13, Georgia Tech #16, North Carolina # 18 and FSU #20, the ACC is 2nd with five teams.
Next the Big 10 has four in #2 Ohio State, #9 Iowa # 12 Wisconsin and # 19 Penn State. Then we have the PAC 10 with three in #11 Oregon, # 14 USC and #14 Oregon State. Next the Big 12 with three in #5 Texas, #7 Oklahoma and #8 Nebraska. After that by the Big East with 2 in #15 Pittsburgh and #25 West Virginia. The Mountain West has #6 TCU and the Western Athletic with #3 Boise State that rounds out the AP Top 25. Check these teams and the NCAA Football Odds as the 2010 season gets going.
