Whilst 100% endorsing everything that’s been said could I put a quick word in for ordinary tax-payers whose hard and often dangerous work is also rarely seen and upon whose shoulders, in turn, scientists have been able to function. It would have slowed their progress if they’d had to mine their own coal, grow food and make clothes.
@ChairmanKiel
I do not ignore technological advancements, but until now military was leader of them and you cant change that fact. Even from stone age weapons were made much better than everyday tools and nothing changed up to now.
As for future, you may be right , from now on it is possible that technology will serve for something better than killing. we ill see that when new GPS will be deployed if it serves for killing or for saving lives..
Technological benefits are created by demand and funding. The more demand, the more funding; which is why some startling technologies have been developed by the military.
But you are so fixated on military spending and what they create, that you ignore other wondrous scientific and technological advancements; like most recently scientists have created a completely synthetic cell. By 2018, we will start to create our own stars, for infinite renewable energy. You are just bias.
@ChairmanKiel
I do not ignore these benefits, but actualy I just hate when great stuff is hidden as miltay secret and just when it becomes obsolete we get acess to that tecnology.
Juts take GPS as example, this system is nearly obsolete add may crash any time, but military still wont give you access to L2 frequency so that you cant use all GPS potential.
and there are lots of similar examples, especially for all technology which was invented in “hot” times.
“I just told fact about military projects beauty, and lets hope it will change in future ”
You didn’t tell any facts; you just made general statements, that implied certain personal opinions you hold were factual, when you didn’t demonstrate they were.
And no, it’s not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is to sit at your computer, and ignore all the other benefits it’s brought, designed for a multitude of reasons, and then claim it was made solely for violence. Use your brain more effectively.
Who claimed to be a goody goody? I’m just poking holes in your obviously flawed argument.
“I am so against war in Iraq, but well, I like cheap gasoline after all.”
Tell me why violence didn’t help, and only worsened the situation? Oh, that’s right, you can’t, since you think violence solves everything. If fighting was suppose to work, why has everyone’s economy gone to shit?
@ChairmanKiel
All that is just hypocrisy.
You can pretend being goody goody, but just because there area others who do you dirty work
I am so against war in Iraq, but well, I like cheap gasoline after all.
I hate killing people but I need funding for my nuclear bomb project so why not
Anyway this is getting off topic so lets better stop
I just told fact about military projects beauty, and lets hope it will change in future
Who do I kill? Be more specific; your generalities are ice thin in reasoning.
“Compare LHC with US military budget ”
So, you are comparing quantity with quality? Having more of something thrown at a particular thing makes it more important because of some arbitrary value you’ve put on it, and not the actual merits behind the thing itself?
That’s like saying the Blitz Krieg tactic is more important that the discovery of penicillin

And what I wrong with competition? Competition is a part of life. The only reason you exist today is because your ancestors out competed some other variations.
But you’re once again making generalizations. It’s not just competition that we have, but cooperation. How is it that we’ve stopped the majority of wars these days? Global cooperation. People, countries, and cultures have come to realize that we need not beat each other over the head any more; most of us any way.
@ChairmanKiel
It is not violence it is competition we fight in all possible ways.
You kill others either with guns or with money.
And everything we do is nothing more than competition so that we could prove our superiority.
Of course there is stuff which we do just for fun but it is nothing comparable to military and commercial projects.
Compare LHC with US military budget
You are trying to simplify and generalize a very complex and intricate species. Humans can’t be put into broad generalizations; there will always be large exceptions to the rule, and sheer contradictions; because we aren’t something that can be measured by one system of values.
We are many and varied; with different cultures, values, and backgrounds. Your broad assumptions and generalities only show that you are unable to see the truly see the vastness and complexity of humanity.
“yes but strangely enough all these things are no way beautiful but just mundane worthless crap.”
Once again, that’s your personal opinion; not a fact.
“And yes we created everything to dominate, that why we patent our inventions to forbids other to use them and gain economical advantage over others. ”
Obviously you don’t understand how commerce and capitalism works. If everyone is free to steal everyone’s hard work and ideas, then nothing can be gained, or advanced.
yes but strangely enough all these things are no way beautiful but just mundane worthless crap.
just ask anyone what is more beautiful newest bomber interceptor capable to fly at M3 speed and equipped with newest destruction devices or newest Boeing or Airbus passenger plane.
And yes we created everything to dominate, that why we patent our inventions to forbids other to use them and gain economical advantage over others.
“You cant deny fact that even today when we have prefect technology for destruction, most interesting and fascinating stuff is funded through military projects.”
No, what that shows is what you consider interesting; showing your own personal bias. The fact that you tried to say that destructive projects funded by the military are more interesting isn’t a fact, it’s your own personal opinion.
There are far more interesting things than killing people to me; and most others.

you should see earthlings and maybe you should think twice before saying “im a proud human.”

Nice one TF, John Miles music brings back some memories too
Well done TF!
Three men, one rocket – The sequel to one man, one jar?
IM proud to be a human [Homosapien ftw]!
I was thinking on this earlier.
Almost everything you see that is man-made consist of the very best ideas of living (and dead) human beings.
It’s hard not to see the wonderful elegance of it (once you see it…)
@raptors222222 watch this : watch?v=rpKphB4w9ME you might want to reconsider that
I’m proud to be human.
