@goldtintedspecs, cont. *Radical* photoshopping doesn’t happen in publishing houses because they use photographs of genuinely gorgeous people (either celebs or models hired from agencies) & then do quick touch-ups. It isn’t good business to get poor images & pay an expensive university graduate from art school to spend hours touching the images up. It just doesn’t happen! The radical Photoshop is seen in tutorials & lie-pushing ‘docos’ such as the above.
@goldtintedspecs, I’m NOT denying that Photoshopping happens (in the PRINT media). It does; but it’s just a tool, like make-up, and lighting – in movies. Photoshop has attracted this huge amount of criticism because IT (& it alone) is capable of RADICALLY falsifying images. This does not happen in movies. I’m using movies to reveal this lie that insecure women are spreading that EVERYTHING is fake. Even Photoshopping in the print media isn’t radical. The radical is used to sell *Photoshop*.
@jade9154, Jade? Are you a woman? Are you one of the females who spends an average of £100.000 in a lifetime on cosmetics & beauty treatments? Because hair extensions, false lashes, make-up, highlights, boob jobs, falsies, high heels, false nails, sexy outfits, jewellery, tans (fake or real), hair depilation, etc. are all means of enhancing the appearance – exactly the same thing that Photoshop does. If you wear only a touch of make-up, you’re a hypocrite to be here whinging.

Sadly, capitalistic greed is at work in businesses that sell ‘beauty’ (to the women who moan & wail at how unfair it all is but who keep buying the glossy magazines that make them feel so miserable). To those greedy businessmen (& businesswomen), it makes sense to use every available means to fool the gullible buyers, take their money, & laugh at them.

No modelling agency hires ‘ugly’ women & then spends hours via expensive experts to produce useable images! They hire highly attractive women and then TOUCH UP, accentuate, highlight -according the exact same principle of women wearing make-up. Any women who criticises this – hypocri

@goldtintedspecs, I work in movies & you don’t know squat-diddly about it. Lighting crews and make-up artists do a professional job but they can’t erase great chunks of fat off lard asses & make buck teeth straight! Why do you think Hollywood hires the most gorgeous babes? It’s because they don’t need to work miracles on them (& ‘miracles’ needs to be in apostrophes because there’s no such thing). J-Lo may have had some photoshop at some time because asses change, she gets photographed ‘fat’..
I think photoshop should be banned in the media because it really affects the images of what people think are normal or good-looking. It’s not realistic and shouldn’t be portrayed this much in the media. It might be the initiation of many self-image issues.

Oh no, movies aren’t photoshopped AT ALL. Also, movies don’t really have a LIGHTING CREW that can do absolute magic with a properly aimed light, or MAKE UP ARTISTS that layer the actors with 17 layers of makeup to make their skin look flawless etc.
This vid IS hypocritical, but come on. Be realistic. Granted, some people are naturally, insanely beautiful, like you said, but that doesn’t make their body perfect. Don’t you remember JLo photoshopping her ass so it looks smaller?
