The Wonder and Beauty of Teaching Physics
Walter Lewin, professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, sheds light on everyday phenomena such as rainbows and what makes the sky blue. Watch Lewin create a rainbow right in the lecture hall and other exciting demonstrations in this engaging and creative discussion of physics that sheds what lies beneath the everyday wonders of our world.
as always i would say Wow… really nice sir
The reason someone should spend the time to learn the physics of a rainbow is if it is needed for practical reasons:
1) A student that needs grades.
2) You want to be (or you are) professionally involved in physics.
From any other perspective rainbow knowledge is a waste. But I guess it is better than getting drunk or watching stupid movie.
I rather have sex than listen to the lecture.
A lot of prior knowledge is needed to explain rainbows.
RESPECT RESPECT RESPECT FROM IRAN
I have studies Physics like a religion and I always wanted to be a Physicist but due to certain reasons I become a Physician.I have seen this video and my observation is that Had I been his student I would have have been teaching there only at MIIT.Long live Walter sir.You are the God of Physics……………….I can say….I ahve seen and watched God teaching. Thanks alot.
With that kind of accent he could only be Dutch…figures I was right:)
@ReadCommentBelow hahaha
Very detailed observations, really clearly explained. This is the way to encourage students to think logically, question everything they hear or see, and try to find beautiful answers.
Great teacher Prof. Lewin.
asleep? lol 26:11
@1aMattes..wtf?!..it doesnt even cost that much for the year
This is awesome!
What a fantastic teacher.
absolutely beautiful
It would probably be worth it, though if you want to study physics, you can do it to a large extent on your own!
excellent work!
Amazing teacher.
Lewin is a fantastic lecturer. A role model to follow.
MIT costs 60.000$ each semester
Breeding grounds for parrots.
gay
also read F.A. Hayek’s Nobel banquest speech. he wasn’t too fond of the whole idea of giving away awards for things that should be taken so seriously. It allows politics to creep into science & other subjects.
Thank You .
Cool, cool. Thanks for the input!
i’d say you are in a good spot, but there are a few thousand kids with the same grades as you, I think you must prove you have something unique, something about you that shows imperfection
deep in thought maybe?
like above 4.0? I’ve gotten 4.02 if i recall correctly
